Types of Car Accidents that Require a Lawyer

Automobile accidents result in not only physical injuries but emotional and mental trauma as well. Driving in the Washington city of Spokane, you may find yourself caught up in an accident that may not be your fault. When you try to claim compensation, however, insurance companies will try to reduce the amount you could receive. Should this happen, you should contact a Spokane car accident attorney as soon as possible. The process can be mentally and physically exhausting, but you and your loved ones deserve justice.

There are many causes behind car accidents, and many times it is the other driver’s fault. If you’re wondering when you should hire a lawyer, here are types of accidents that call for legal help.

Rear-End Collisions

Rear-end collisions are the most common road accidents that take place in all parts of the world. This accident occurs when a vehicle rams into the vehicle in front of it. Approximately one-third of all automobile accidents are rear-ended collisions. Speeding, reckless driving and driving while distracted are all to blame for these. These occur most commonly at red lights or when the driver presses the accelerator instead of the brake.

The most common injury is whiplash and the victim should seek medical attention immediately.

Head-On Collisions

When the front ends of two vehicles crash into each other, it is termed a head-on collision. While rear-end collisions are common, head-on collisions are more fatal and can also result in severe injuries. These accidents usually occur on undivided roads with low clearance. Driving under the influence and falling asleep at the wheel are two of the most common causes.

Side Impact Collisions

Commonly occurring at intersections and in parking lots, side-impact collisions take place when the front of a vehicle crashes into the side of another vehicle. No one can see these accidents coming, which is why they result in severe injuries, similar to head-on collisions. There is also only a door between the front of a vehicle and the victim, offering zero protection. Fractures, trauma and death are often the results.

Rollovers

The most fatal accidents are rollovers, where vehicles flip and land on their roofs. In these accidents, passengers may be ejected from their seats and forced out of the vehicle. Rollovers usually result in either being trapped in the vehicle or suffering injuries that may result in death. The accident can also injure others around the victim as the vehicle can spin out of control.

The aftermath of the aforementioned accidents can be excruciating. Many times, it is not the victim’s fault. Drunk and reckless driving, breaking red lights, not checking clearance, and other factors contribute to the reasons why these accidents occur. If you have been injured in any such accident or have lost a loved one, seek legal counsel immediately. Similarly, if you have witnessed such accidents, you have a moral responsibility to testify.

Hire the right lawyer today because you and your family deserve justice.
